What's your major and why did you choose it?
I chose Psychology as my major because I feel like it comes naturally to me. I love helping people and I know I will be happy making a career out of it.
What do you plan to do when you graduate?
As soon as I graduate I would love to travel! Before I start my career I would love to be able to see more of the world.
Name one thing people shouldn't miss in your college town.
I think that if you’re in Lawrence, you should go to Allen Fieldhouse and catch a KU basketball game. Lawrence is the best college town and everyone is proud to be a Jayhawk, especially after winning the national championship last year! Allen Fieldhouse is an amazing place to be, and even if a game isn’t going on you can still feel all the magic of KU basketball and all the pride of the school.
How would your best friends describe you?
I think my best friends would describe me as a fun girl who loves to just hang out. They would probably say that I am silly and spontaneous and unique. I think they would say that I’m pretty easy to get along with and I hope they would say that I’m trustworthy and that they feel like they can be themselves around me.
Reveal to us your secret obsession.
My secret obsession isn’t really a secret if you’re a close friend of mine, but I am definitely obsessed with the show Smallville! I have all the DVD sets, a Smallville lunchbox, the Smallville calendar and Smallville posters. Anything Smallville that I see, I definitely need to have :P
When nobody's watching, what can we catch you doing?
Something I do when nobody’s watching is write poetry and songs. I like having some time to myself at the end of the day so I can put all my thoughts on paper. I fill up whole notebooks with thoughts and little drawings and it just helps me clear my mind. That’s something a lot of people don’t know about me and probable wouldn’t guess.
What would your ideal vacation be?
My ideal vacation would be somewhere tropical, where I can just relax and explore. I love just wandering around and checking out my surroundings. I would love to just hang out on a beach and go swimming and play in the sand and climb palm trees.
Describe your best Halloween costume.
i didn't dress up my Freshman year, but this year I'm super pumped to say that I'm going to have a costume specially made so I can be the Silk Spectre 2 from my favorite graphic novel, Watchmen! (I'm also going to wear the costume to the premiere of the movie when it comes out in March :P)
If you won the lottery, what would you do?
If I won the lottery I think I would first set aside money to pay for the rest of my college tuition…. Then I would definitely go on vacation with my closest friends! After that I would want to use a lot of my winnings to start a tiger sanctuary in Asia (Tigers are my favorite endangered species!) I would also probably buy a lot of new Nikes and maybe a Lotus Exige :P
If you could do something completely spontaneous right now and not get in trouble you would?
If I could do anything completely spontaneous right now I would take a couple weeks off of school and road trip up to Vancouver so I could see where Smallville is filmed :)
Where is the most beautiful place you've ever been?
The most beautiful place that I’ve ever been is definitely St. John! Going to the Virgin Islands was absolutely UNREAL! I will never forget it! Just seeing how blue the water was and how green all the trees were was amazing! If I could go back and just lie on the sand and stare at the ocean forever, I would!
Admit something embarrassing.
I probably do more boyish things than typical girl things. I usually like to just hang out with the guys and play video games and watch SportsCenter. I like to read comic books, and watch action movies and I don't get all dressed up very often. I have a way better time just hanging out with my BFF's having a Mario Kart tournament than going out to the bars or a party.
What is your most prized possession?
My most prized possession is probably my camera. I love taking pictures of all the different places I go and of all my friends. I just love being able to look at a picture and remember where I was, what I was doing and how much fun I was having!
Tell us something you'd love to do but are too scared to try.
I think I would really love skydiving. I'm very afraid of heights but I know that if I could just get myself to jump I would have a blast! I would definitely want to go with a friend because I know I would be way to scared to do it on my own.
How do you impress a cute guy at a bar?
I usually don’t go looking for guys at bars, but if I do see one I think is cute I’ll just try to catch his eye, flash him a smile, and ask him to dance ☺
What can a guy do to impress you?
If a guy wants to impress me all he really has to do is make me laugh…like hardcore laugh, like “OW my face hurts from laughing so much and I can’t breathe!” Also, if a guy is polite I’m definitely impressed because that seems to be hard to find these days :P
As a kid, did you get into trouble?
I didn't get in too much trouble as a kid but there are a few things that really bugged my mom. For instance, she would make me a lunch almost everyday through middle school and I would always forget about it and not eat it and then I would forget to put it in the fridge.. and my mom always told me not to waste food. Then there were all those times when I would go to PetCo and bring home a new lizard or tree frog or mouse or something like that, and my parents weren't too happy because they said they would stink up the house :P But I just couldn't stop because I love animals!
What's your best quality?
I think my best quality is that I'm intuitive. I can always tell when something's wrong, or if someone is feeling bad and I always try my best to make the situation better. I think I'm really good at making people feel better because I can tell what would make them happy. I've found that if I stay upbeat around people and have fun then they usually start having fun too. Smiling is contagious :)
Do you have a hidden talent?
Well, my best friend Katie says my hidden talent is picking great best friends :P, but I think I have a talent for eating steak. No matter how much filet mignon you put in front of me, I can eat it (as long as it's medium rare). I'd say it's a hidden talent because I'm only 105 pounds and most people laugh when I challenge them to a steak eating contest :)
Tell us something that people wouldn't believe about you.
You probably wouldn’t believe that I taught myself how to write in Kryptonian (that’s right, the language of Superman’s home planet ☺)
What has been your best memory of college so far?
I think my favorite memory of college so far is living in the dorms. As much as they suck I still loved them :P It was just so fun being able to run down the hall and be in my friends' rooms in five seconds! Also, I had never shared a room before and it was so nice having someone to talk to every night when I was trying to fall asleep. There was always something going on and tons of people to hang out with.
